The Software Development Engineer in Test will participate on the Product Engineering team and help to produce upcoming versions of the core Centri products. You will use technical knowledge and skills to help validate and test an industry leading solution for optimizing mobile networks. You will contribute to projects involving compression, caching, encryption, scaling and TCP/sockets among others. This role requires an individual who is willing to work with many different technologies and is comfortable "switching gears" often.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform white box test and automated test related tasks involving a wide variety of mobile software and mobile network related projects.
- Participate in team troubleshooting discussions related to the current projects
- Manage project tasks from start to finish and provide regular updates of project status and escalation to management as appropriate
- Produce test cases and test documentation for projects
Education, Experience & Qualities:
- Must have a B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, MIS, EE or equivalent
- Comfortable in a fast-paced small start-up environment
- Experience in telecommunications/wireless industry a plus
- Experience with standard software development methodologies
- Minimum 3 years in a professional position, within a technology company testing software, preferably related to automated or white-box testing
- Team Player
- Self-motivated and driven by success
- Ability to work with other departments and all levels of the company
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in fast paced, self-directed environment while delivering project and product-based tasks and documentation
- Self- motivator who can work independently and effectively in an unstructured environment, while contributing to a positive team environment
- Experience with some source control required
- Experience with defect creation/management and at least one defect tracking tool required
- Experience with automated test process and at least one automated test tool required
- Experience with at least one scripting language preferred
- Knowledge of mobile networks and typical mobile network infrastructure preferred
- Knowledge of TCP and HTTP protocols preferred
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system required
